Like many modern fairytales, ours began with a swipe. One ordinary day on Bumble, Nicole came across a photo of Derek standing proudly in front of a Hamilton door. It was witty, confident, and just the right amount of clever — so, naturally, she swiped right. Little did we know that one photo would spark something extraordinary.

Our first date was at Barrio, where conversation came easily and laughter filled the air. But there was one more test to pass — Sirius Black, Nicole’s mini goldendoodle and the self-appointed judge of character. Derek met him soon after, and Sirius gave his immediate (and very enthusiastic) approval.

Date two was even more memorable — bowling, playful competition, and two wins from the claw machine that marked the beginning of a new chapter: Jelly Rolls and Paul. (Yes, we still have them.) Somewhere between gutter balls (all Nicole) laughter, and shared snacks, we both knew this was something real.

From that point forward, life has been filled with the best kind of magic — the everyday kind. We’re each other’s biggest supporters — in every goal, every adventure, and every ordinary Tuesday.

Our relationship is supportive, happy, and endlessly fun — a perfect blend of Nicole’s Disney heart and Derek’s Lego-loving imagination. Together, we’ve built a world that feels like home, brick by brick and moment by moment.
