Our Wedding

A swipe right, a dog named Sirius, and a love story built with equal parts Lego bricks and Disney magic.

Like many modern fairytales, ours began with a swipe. One ordinary day on Bumble, Nicole came across a photo of Derek standing proudly in front of a Hamilton door. It was witty, confident, and just the right amount of clever — so, naturally, she swiped right. Little did we know that one photo would spark something extraordinary. Our first date was at Barrio, where conversation came easily and laughter filled the air. But there was one more test to pass — Sirius Black, Nicole’s mini goldendoodle and the self-appointed judge of character. Derek met him soon after, and Sirius gave his immediate (and very enthusiastic) approval. Date two was even more memorable — bowling, playful competition, and two wins from the claw machine that marked the beginning of a new chapter: Jelly Rolls and Paul. (Yes, we still have them.) Somewhere between gutter balls (all Nicole) laughter, and shared snacks, we both knew this was something real. From that point forward, life has been filled with the best kind of magic — the everyday kind. We’re each other’s biggest supporters — in every goal, every adventure, and every ordinary Tuesday. Our relationship is supportive, happy, and endlessly fun — a perfect blend of Nicole’s Disney heart and Derek’s Lego-loving imagination. Together, we’ve built a world that feels like home, brick by brick and moment by moment.

Our Story

Every fairytale needs a trusted co-star — and for Nicole, that’s her sister, Rachelle. Though Disney isn’t exactly her thing, she once laced up her running shoes for a runDisney race, proving that sisterhood is its own kind of magic.
Just 4½ years apart, they’ve always been side-by-side — playing Barbies, sharing secrets, and turning tiny New York apartments into big adventures. Rachelle has seen every version of Nicole — the kid, the dreamer, the bride — and loved her through them all. Loyal, hilarious, and full of heart, she’s the perfect sister to stand beside Nicole on her happily ever after. 💕

Some friendships just stick — and for Nicole, that’s Josh. They met in 2007 on the way to a wizard rock concert, and the rest is history.
From NYC adventures to Taylor Swift rainstorms and matching Universal trips, they’ve turned every moment into a memory. Through every chapter, Josh has been there — loyal, hilarious, and always ready for the next adventure. ✨

Joining a VQ to go to a Crowned Athletics pop up during Wine and Dine is the last way I expected to make a new friend but here we are! Thanks to me getting #1 and my mom’s suggestion we were able to meet and become fast friends bonding over the important things in life such as Crowned Athletics, rundisney, and the importance of never going to Disney Springs on a Saturday night. Looking forward to Alyssa standing by my side and all of the adventures we have to come!

Every fairytale needs a little sparkle — and ours comes from Rosalie, daughter of Rachelle and Jerry. She brings joy and magic everywhere she goes, and on our wedding day, she’ll sprinkle a little pixie dust down the aisle — the sweetest part of our happily ever after. ✨💕

Where do I even begin? What can I say about someone who has given me so much over the years, From a safe place to stay, to a freaking car, to PTSD for Tower of Terror. Whether its how to hold a fork, hold a flashlight *twitch*, or how to problem solve he is always teaching me something. I can not express my gratitude for all you have done for me over the years. I truly would not be the man I am today if it wasn't for Bill. I can think of no one else more deserving of being my best man. I love you Bill, thank you for everything.

Who could as for a better B.I.L. (Brother-in-law)? Jerry. Jerry could. Unfortunately, he's going to be stuck with me. Guess the least I can do is make him a groomsman huh?

Please read all of that with the heavy sarcasm it is written with. I am awesome and Jerry is lucky. In all seriousness, I could not ask for a better person to be my future B.I.L.. From understanding my love of Mayo, to getting my jokes when no one else does. I could not think of a better person to have along side me while I start the next chapter of my life.

Me: Wanna go see a tree lighting with my gf and I?
Cosmic: (Awkwardly) Suuuurree?

And the rest they say is history. *Fades to black*

If only it were that simple to explain our friendship lol. Over the past 2 and a half years i have watched Cosmic grow form an awkward shy...baby, to a more confident, self sure...baby. Sorry Cosmic, your only 21. As my first true Ohioan friend, when it came to picking a groomsman there was no doubt in my mind it was Cosmic or bust. Much like that picture you have always been lurking in the background, holding me a gun point demanding friendship. Now as one of my groomsmen it is your job to use that gun to keep me at the alter (Love you Nicole).
